“Heartbreak & Healing, A Painter’s Search for Justice”
Andy Shelton – Pop-up Show at Little Tree Art Studios July 30th & 31st.

From 1996 until 2007, Andy Sheldon (Little Tree studio 104)consulted in prosecuting the killers of Medgar Evers and the four little girls who died in the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in Birmingham.  The experience impacted him profoundly and he looked for an outlet for the sadness and rage that had stayed with him over the years.  Painting has provided that outlet.

His project, “Heartbreak and Healing, a Painter’s Search for Justice”, will be exhibited in our gallery on Friday evening, July 30th from 5pm until 8pm and all day Saturday, July 31st from 10am until 3pm.   Andy will be available to speak about his experiences and will give an artist’s talk at 11 am on Saturday.  Light refreshments.
Please join us in the common space area at the 2846 building.
Please exercise your own good judgment about attending this show as some paintings depict lynchings.

This show will be open to the public by invitation.

Thank you,
Little Tree Staff
