THE ART OF FOOD AS MEDICINE
/in Events /by SherryA curated evening with Ali Miller RD author of The Anti-Anxiety Diet
About this Event
Join us for a soirée at the studio where we celebrate food-as-medicine at the Little Tree Art Studios featuring artisans in the real food movement of the greater Atlanta scene.
As you enter this funky warehouse, you will be welcomed with an elixir and then can sip and stroll through the space tasting and experiencing local foods including a butcher demo and smoker, fermentation station with pickled veggies and kombucha, blended bone brothery, medicinal cocktails, interactive art installations, and more!
Once you’ve explored these curated interactive stations you will gather for a food-as-medicine lecture and community conversation. Ali Miller, functional medicine practitioner and author of The Anti-Anxiety Diet, will navigate you through root causes of imbalance in the body and how foods can heal. Learn about the microbiome, leaky gut and food intolerance, stress and adrenal fatigue, and the importance of detoxification and abundance of antioxidants.
Following lecture, there will be a panel discussion featuring artisans, heroes of the local food movement including: Rusty Bowers of Pine Street Market, Melanie Wade of Cultured South, and Ali Miller RD, moderated by Becki Yoo RD, integrative dietitian and podcast co host of Naturally Nourished and alimillerRD.com
